The “five stages of grief” never fit what actually happened in my body after losing my child. Worden’s Four Tasks were the first framework that finally made sense - the thing that helped me understand why my brain, my identity, and my emotions shifted the way they did. These tasks gave me permission to grieve in real time, in real waves… not in stages I was supposed to “complete.” If you’re grieving, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re in a process. A living, breathing relationship with your loss.
