A groundbreaking study published in Current Biology has revealed that the Ayta Magbukon people of the Philippines carry the highest known levels of Denisovan ancestry in the world — even more than populations in Papua New Guinea and Australia. Researchers examined over 2.3 million genetic markers from 118 ethnic groups, and the results were astonishing.
