Gold extended gains after President Donald Trump said he had chosen Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Stephen Miran to serve as a Federal Reserve governor.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said he’s chosen Stephen Miran, who heads the Council of Economic Advisers, to serve in the recently vacated seat until Jan. 31.

Trump on Thursday announced he has selected Stephen Miran, chair of the Council of Economic Advisors, to serve on the central bank.
