One of the three wildfires burning in northern Minnesota has exploded in size in just a matter of a few hours.

Three wildfires have burned a combined over 30,000 acres in northern Minnesota, destroying buildings and prompting evacuations.

A second wildfire is burning in St. Louis County, near Hoyt Lakes, north of the Camp House fire in Ault Township. So far, one structure has been engulfed, with authorities saying the fire has reached about 800 acres.

COTTON — An evacuation order has been issued for residents "south of Comstock Road, west of Upper Bug Lake (Road), East of Lily Lake, and North of Wood Tick," due to spread of the Munger Shaw Fire, St. Louis County Sheriff Gordon Ramsay posted on social media Wednesday afternoon.

The Camp House Fire is nearly 12,000 acres; Jenkins Creek Fire is 6,800 acres; and Munger-Shaw Fire is 1,600 acres. All are zero percent contained.

– The Camp House Fire has now destroyed 140 buildings. While there is no updated figure, authorities now say the fire has spread in excess of 12,000 acres. The Jenkins Creek Fire is also ongoing, with deputies asking people to stay off of Forest Hwy 11 that leads from Townline to the City of Hoyt Lakes.

Officials say three wildfires fed by dry conditions and strong winds in St. Louis County now encompass hundreds of acres each, forcing evacuations.The Camp House Fire near Brimson, Minnesota, was first reported around 1 p.
