F1 standings: Lando Norris has lead over Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri going into final two races
Lando Norris has a 24-point lead over Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen in the Formula One title race heading into the final two races of the season. Norris and McLaren team-mate Piastri were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix for technical infringements, with Verstappen boosting his title hopes with victory.
McLaren have released a statement apologising to both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri after the two drivers were disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix, following P2 and P4 finishes.
Prior to the disqualification of both McLarens in Vegas, Norris's position at the top of the F1 standings was much more secure. The Brit would have held a 30-point lead over Piastri, and a 42-point advantage over Verstappen. Ironically, Piastri is actually better off after the McLaren disqualification than before.
