EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings placed the cherry on top of an efficient offseason Saturday, agreeing to terms with safety Josh Metellus on a new three-year contract worth up to $42 million, the team announced.

At the time of his commitment, safety Josh Metellus was considered by many to be a take due to Michigan football coveting his high school teammate, linebacker Devin Bush. Yet, the former Miami (Fla.) Charles Flanagan three-star didn't just come along in his own right, he continues to ascend -- well beyond his years in Ann Arbor.

Josh Metellus and the Minnesota Vikings came to an agreement Saturday on a new three-year, $36 million contract extension that includes $25 million guaranteed and can be worth up to $42 million with incentives.
