On Tuesday at 10:35 a.m. a heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 9 p.m. until Wednesday 9 p.m. for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties.

A heat advisory is in effect starting at 12 p.m. today and continuing through 7 p.m. tomorrow due to a heat index value reaching up to 107 degrees. Today will be sunny with winds from the south around 5 to 10 mph and a high in the upper 90s.

Dangerous conditions continue across Florida Tuesday, July 29, with most of the state under either extreme heat warnings or heat advisories.

Jacksonville, North, Northeast Florida: Dangerous heat today, with heat index of 108 to 115. Extreme heat warning and heat advisories issued.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that extreme heat can lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for vulnerable populations.
