WR DeVonta Smith (back stiffness) and S Drew Mukuba (shoulder) sat out practice on July 28, as did LB Smael Mondon (illness) and WR Danny Gray (finger). The following were limited: LB Jihaad Campbell (shoulder), DT Jalen Carter (shoulder), G Kenyon Green (knee), and C Cam Jurgens (back).
PHILADELPHIA — Saquon Barkley sat behind the table, following the man who’s much like a mountain. Lane Johnson lumbered outside the media tent, an ageless pillar poised for his 13th season at right tackle.
To hold off Eagles rookie safety Andrew Mukuba for the starting role, Brown needs to standout during practice and preseason games. A close competition heavily favors Mukuba, who was chosen by the Eagles in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
With the session complete and players speaking to the media, we're looking at four standouts from Day 4 of training camp.
A former seventh-round pick, Ojomo continues to show in camp that he's ready to take on a bigger role on the Eagles' defensive line.
There's also a long way to go in the outside cornerback competition. Kelee Ringo, the Eagles' fourth-round pick in 2023, is the front-runner over veteran Adoree Jackson. With that status comes plenty of first-team reps against Eagles star receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
