UNC quarterback Max Johnson thought he might lose his leg after a gruesome injury last season. Now, he's back competing for the starting job.

Johnson is fully cleared to participate in fall camp, and he said he feels completely healthy just under a year removed from the awful night in Minnesota. He worked out with his teammates throughout the summer conditioning program and will not have any limitations in the ramp-up to the season.

Max Johnson suffered a season-ending leg injury during North Carolina's 2024 season-opening matchup against Minnesota, an injury so serious that Johnson revealed he was concerned he might need to undergo amputation.
