Tom Izzo speaks after big win over Michigan; MSU men’s basketball jumps up in AP Top 25 poll
EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Tom Izzo addressed media at a press conference Monday afternoon. Michigan State men’s basketball picked up two big wins last week vs. Purdue and at Michigan, and the Spartans now sit in first place in the Big Ten ahead of another tough test on the road at No. 16 Maryland on Wednesday.

No. 14 Michigan State plays at No. 12 Michigan on Friday as Izzo marks his rivalry debut against Dusty May, the first-year coach of the Wolverines. May will be the sixth Michigan coach to square off against Izzo. “It’s something different and the rivalry is the rivalry,” Izzo said after practice on Wednesday. “I’m looking forward to it.”
