Santa Clara County filed a lawsuit Monday against Meta, alleging the tech giant profited from billions of fraudulent ads targeting vulnerable users.

Santa Clara County Public Health issued a South Bay health alert after 18 Legionella cases were linked to Kaiser Santa Clara, with investigation ongoing to identify exposure pathways and affected cohorts.

The lawsuit further alleges that the tech giant’s practices harm consumers and increase advertising prices for legitimate businesses.

Santa Clara County is suing Facebook's parent company, Meta, on behalf of all California residents over harmful scam advertisements on the company’s social media platforms.

Santa Clara County filed a lawsuit against Meta on May 11 alleging that the company knowingly enables and profits from a large network of scam advertisements which defraud users on its social media websites Facebook and Instagram.

But Eric was overwhelmed with Jaxon’s 24-hour care and weekly trips to San Jose that were threatening his sales job. He told social workers he would have to relinquish custody as originally planned: not in August, but at the end of February. Six weeks later, Jaxon was dead.
