Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back spasm during the India vs Australia fifth Test in Sydney and did not bowl in the second innings. The BCCI is yet to give an update on Bumrah.

Although the ICC set January 12 as the deadline for teams participating in the Champions Trophy to announce their provisional squads, the BCCI is expected to make its announcement a week later.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19, with Pakistan hosting the marquee ICC tournament in a hybrid model (neutral venue). India will play all their matches (group-stage games, semifinal and final) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Champions Trophy will be hosted in a hybrid format with Pakistan as official hosts. The tournament will be played a three venues in Pakistan -- Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi- and in Dubai, where India will play all their matches, including the semifinal and final if they qualify, as an agreement between the ICC, PCB and the BCCI.

ICC had set a five-week deadline for the provisional squad announcement for the Champions Trophy, however, it seems India are set to ask for an extension in the aftermath of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Virat Kohli’s 50-over record is by far the best amongst all formats that he’s played for India in. He is expected to retain his No. 3 spot in the batting lineup for CT 2025. With 295 ODIs, nearly 14,000 runs, and 51 centuries to his name, Kohli will aim to put his recent Test form behind him and shine in the Champions Trophy.

BCCI is likely to postpone the announcement of India's Champions Trophy squad beyond the set deadline by the ICC.
