A Powerball player in Washington won $50,000, just missing the $80 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, June 14, Washington’s Lottery said.

Using the lottery app on his phone, the player checked his tickets and learned his Powerball ticket scored him $50,000. “I was ecstatic when I realized I won,” he told lottery officials. The player won by matching “four white balls and the Power Ball,” missing the jackpot by one number, according to lottery officials.

The six-figure winning Powerball game was sold at the Power Trac gas station/convenience store at 3301 S.C. 88 in Central, officials said. The ticket matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number, a feat that has odds of 1-in-913,129 of occurring, officials said.
