The New York Yankees were urged to replace Juan Soto's offensive presence with third baseman Alex Bregman in MLB free agency.

In an 11-photo Instagram post on Dec. 31 captioned “2024>2025,” Judge highlighted his year but did not include a single post with Soto, who helped form the most powerful lineup duo in baseball, Soto batting No. 2 and Judge third. (Soto did like the post, however.)

While losing top free-agent slugger Juan Soto to their crosstown rivals was undoubtedly a blow to the New York Yankees, manager Aaron Boone also sees it as an opportunity. The front office quickly pivoted after Soto signed with the New York Mets by adding left-handed starter Max Fried, closer Devin Williams and infielder/outfielder Cody Bellinger.
