Alabama’s season ended with a loss to Michigan for the second year in a row. The Wolverines and the Crimson Tide (9-4, No. 11 CFP) met in a College Football Playoff semifinal at last season’s Rose Bowl, with Michigan winning on the way to capturing the national championship.

Practices begin for four former Crimson Tide players on Tuesday with Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer scheduled to make a media appearance.

The final former Alabama player set to play in Super Bowl LIX is Young, who has yet to compile any stats with the Eagles this season. Young has spent a majority of the season on injured reserve due to an injury.

Alabama experienced a mixed season in 2024. The Crimson Tide recorded a 3-1 record against ranked opponents during the season, plus a victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks, who finished ranked No. 15 in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

FSU will play twice on Friday night, Sept. 26 at Virginia for its ACC opener, and Nov. 21 at North Carolina State. Miami hosts Louisville in a Friday night clash Oct. 17. The Seminoles’ Oct. 18 trip to Stanford will be their first game in California since a 59-20 loss to Oregon in the 2014 College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl.

According to his projections (subscription required) Michigan will play (and lose) the Big Ten to Penn State, but then will have a rematch in Ann Arbor with Ohio State. Per Connelly, Michigan will beat OSU for a fifth-straight time in November and make it six in December.

The Seminoles will host key rivals and play historic matches, including a first-ever game against Stanford in 2025.
