S EATTLE — Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford was responsible for the first rocket on fireworks night at T-Mobile Park on Friday. The veteran infielder hit a walk-off, two-run home run to right field to lead the Mariners to a 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers.

Cal Raleigh homered again, rookie Cole Young also went deep and George Kirby pitched six strong innings as the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 6-0 on Thursday night. Raleigh hit his major league-leading 42nd home run in the fifth inning, two batters after Young hit his third, to give Seattle a 3-0 lead.

With relief pitchers Phil Maton and Danny Coulombe joining the staff, Texas optioned two arms to Triple-A Round Rock.

The Texas Rangers entered Thursday at 57-52 and in a tie with the Seattle Mariners for the third American League Wild Card spot.

Arizona picked up three minor league arms in return for a starter sporting a 9-6 record and a 3.22 ERA this year.
