Missouri’s governor will call the Legislature into a special session to consider incentives aimed at keeping the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals from moving to Kansas.

The State House easily passed the package, which would use tax revenues generated by the stadiums to pay off bonds. Minutes after it crossed the rotunda, though, it stalled.

Gov. Mike Kehoe said Friday that he will call back lawmakers for a special session to consider a counteroffer that would keep both Kansas City teams in Missouri. He called it an economic development package.
