The Lebanese army said Saturday it was ready to deploy its forces in the country's south, accusing Israel of "procrastination" in its withdrawal under a ceasefire, a day before the pullout deadline.

Israeli forces killed at least 15 people and injured dozens more in the country’s south, Lebanese officials said. Israel had agreed to withdraw its troops from the area as of Sunday.

Three people were killed and 31 others wounded while trying to return to homes in south Lebanon as Israeli forces, defying a ceasefire agreement, remain in the region past the stipulated withdrawal deadline.
