Draper and American Jessica Pegula went into the event -- played for the first time in the week before the main tournament -- as the top seeds and eased through to the last four on Tuesday, with a run which included beating Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz in the first round.

A devastating collapse saw Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula crash out of the US Open mixed doubles, surrendering a commanding 8-4 advantage in the decisive tie-break of their semi-final against Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud.

The third partner was the charm for Britain's Jack Draper, 23, in the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship. After his previous partners Qinwen Zheng and Paula Badosa withdrew from the tournament, he was partnered with Jessica Pegula, 31, whose partner Tommy Paul also opted out.
