French President Emmanuel Macron has hosted senior United States officials in Paris for talks on ending the war in Ukraine, as Kyiv’s allies in Europe seek to play a larger role in stalled efforts to end the conflict amid tensions with Washington.

A U.S. delegation headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Paris on Thursday to hold meetings on the conflict in Ukraine in an attempt to bridge a growing transatlantic rift on how to end the war.

French President Emmanuel Macron held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The main topic of discussion was Russia’s war against Ukraine, according to the press service of the Élysée Palace.
