"The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg said Wednesday that the Democratic Party must step aside to let candidates "shine" after recent wins in New Jersey, Virginia and New York elections.

The House is set to vote Wednesday on ending the shutdown after the Senate agreed on a bill to reopen the government.

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman defended his voting record and addressed the criticism he's received from some in his own party for meeting and sometimes voting with President Trump.

James Carville said Tuesday that Democrats lacked a real "endgame" strategy during the government shutdown and urged the party to move on during a conversation with Jim Acosta.

Democrats are hopeful again. Party leaders on Wednesday celebrated big wins up and down the ballot across deep-blue New York and California to swing-states Georgia, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

The Texas Republican Party has replaced its executive director amid a reported shakeup in the state party. Micah Cavanaugh, who previously served as chief of staff to North Texas Congressman Ron Wright as well as to Texas House Rep. Tony Tinderholt, was listed on the Texas GOP website as the new executive director Wednesday.

The Conservative Party is ideologically opposed to the Democratic Party. Yet they found common ground on candidates this year.
