A sea lion rescued with a bullet behind its eye has been rehabilitated and released into the ocean after weeks of care at SeaWorld San Diego, park officials said.

A rescued California sea lion that veterinarians later discovered had a bullet lodged in its head has been released back into the ocean after months of rehabilitation along the San Diego coast.

SeaWorld San Diego released a sea lion back into the ocean on Thursday after a bullet was found lodged behind its eye.
