IBM API Connect works cohesively with the IBM DataPower enterprise gateway to provide secured access to data and business applications wherever they reside, on-premises and across clouds.

And IBM officials said the company plans to introduce a family of SOA appliances based on DataPower technology. IBM did not disclose financial details of the deal to acquire privately held DataPower.
