The Broncos are taking a close look at some of the top tight ends in the NFL draft.

Tate ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds and many questioned if that was too slow. There is a requisite speed threshold that wide receivers need to meet, but the list of pass catchers who have ran sub-4.

Behind the scenes during the evening, teams meet with draft prospects both formally and informally. Each team gets 45 pre-scheduled meetings, in which a prospect sits in a room with coaches and personnel staff for 20 minutes. Informal interviews are just that — casual one-on-one chats between a staff member and a prospect.

Texas A&M had three players drafted last year, while Texas set a program record with 12 taken in seven rounds. That number may shift this year because the Aggies had a program-record 13 players travel to Indianapolis for the combine; the Longhorns had six.
