US forces targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for launching a series of “unprovoked” missile, drone and small boat attacks against American warships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command said on Thursday.
Iran has said it is reviewing new U.S. proposals to end the war, as U.S. President Donald Trump threatens more bombing if no deal is reached.
The US says it targeted Iranian "missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes".
The US military wants to add thousands more troops as recruiting rebounds and rising global demands stretch the force.
"U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) eliminated inbound threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for attacking U.S. forces including missile and drone launch sites; command and control locations; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance nodes," the military said in a statement.
