NEW YORK — The scuffling New York Yankees added infield depth on Saturday night, acquiring Amed Rosario from the Washington Nationals for pitcher Clayton Beeter and a minor leaguer.
While the Dodgers are widely expected to focus their trade deadline on pursuing high-leverage help in the bullpen, they could also stand to add another bat given the paltry production they’ve received from Michael Conforto (79 wRC+) in left field.
Beeter, originally acquired from the Dodgers for Joey Gallo, appeared in two big league games for the Yankees this season. He allowed six earned runs over 3.2 innings. The 26-year-old righty, who debuted with the Yankees last year, had a 3.10 ERA over 18 games at Triple-A.
