LATROBE, Pa. -- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie tight end DJ Thomas-Jones got some good news on Monday. He was carted off the field on Sunday, and the team feared he had torn his Achilles, but that did not happen, as further testing ruled out the injury for the rookie, team sources said to PennLive. Steelers rookie fullback DJ Thomas-Jones was carted off the field Sunday with an injury to his left foot/ankle.
The 34-year-old spent the 2018 season with the New England Patriots. After they finished 11-5, Patterson helped the Patriots throughout the playoffs including two receptions for 14 yards, a 38-yard kick return and seven rushing yards en route to their 13-3 Super Bowl LIII win over the Los Angeles Rams.

The Steelers signed Patterson to a two-year deal, and ended up paying Patterson $3.2 million for just 147 snaps. He came along with Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, who he had long played for, and he will now hope to find another team.
