PITTSBURGH — Paul Skenes again pitched into the eighth for Pittsburgh before Andrew McCutchen came through with a go-ahead single that inning, helping the Pirates complete a three-game sweep of the Phillies with a 2-1 win Sunday.

Paul Skenes delivered another excellent start and Andrew McCutchen brought home the game-winning run for the Pittsburgh Pirates in their 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies to complete the weekend sweep at PNC Park.

A series sweep had eluded the Pittsburgh Pirates entering Sunday in what’s been a disappointing 2025 campaign. But after two straight wins against their cross state rival Philadelphia Phillies, a sweep was within grasp at PNC Park.
