The rally outside the Capitol will feature music and speeches on the same day as a military parade in Washington, D.C. — and Donald Trump’s birthday.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Chanting “This is what democracy looks like,” thousands of protesters were in downtown Sacramento on Saturday as part of a nationwide day of demonstrations. The “No Kings” protests, staged in cities across the country, were organized in response to Saturday's military parade in Washington, D.C.

The Only Kings We Support Are The SACRAMENTO KINGS,’ one protester’s sign said, as Trump opponents demonstrated throughout the capital region.

Army intelligence analysts are monitoring civilian-made ICE tracking tools, treating them as potential threats, as immigration protests spread nationwide.

Scores of “No Kings Day” demonstrations are planned across the country — including two in Fresno — to protest the Trump administration and its policies on Saturday.

The “No Kings” rallies were organized in nearly 2,000 locations nationwide, including cities, towns, and community spaces.

Redding resident Mike Smith brought a U.S. flag and a sign that read “No Kings” with a crossed-out crown. An early bird, he stood in the Cypress Avenue median as cars whizzed by before the 9 a.m. demonstration officially got fully underway.
