Some of MSNBC’s biggest stars are – in extraordinary on-air fashion – rebuking management’s decision to cancel Joy Reid and Alex Wagner’s shows and lay off their production staffs.

MSNBC has reportedly informed a majority of staffers who work on Rachel Maddow’s prime time opinion show that they are being let go as part of the network’s restructuring that resulted in the cancellation of Joy Reid’s program as well as those of other hosts.

A cruel detail in the lay-offs is that MSNBC is actually adding jobs – the laid off staff, however, are not being shifted to the new roles but will
