Speedway Classic in Bristol set to break Major League Baseball regular-season attendance record
The ceremonial first pitch before the Speedway Classic will feature two Hall of Famers who spent their entire careers representing the two competing teams. Former Braves superstar Chipper Jones will throw the first pitch to another one of the all-time greats, former Reds catcher Johnny Bench.
Speedway Classic set to shatter MLB attendance record at Bristol
The Speedway Classic will set a new MLB single-game attendance record with over 85,000 tickets sold, surpassing the previous record of 84,587. The event will feature pregame ceremonies by the U.S. Navy and a ceremonial first pitch between Hall of Famers Chipper Jones and Johnny Bench.
