Having lost four in a row and their lead in the NL West, the Dodgers entered Friday night's series opener against the surging Padres needing to play with some urgency.

As a result of the victory, the Dodgers are now tied with the Padres for the NL West Division lead. Clayton Kershaw limited the Padres' offense, allowing just two hits (one a home run) while striking out three in six innings on the mound.

Clayton Kershaw out-pitched Max Scherzer in a matchup for the ages, as the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays on Friday night, 5-1.

I t's Friday, August 15 and the Padres (69-52) are in Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers (68-53). Clayton Kershaw will take the mound for Los Angeles, while San Diego will announce its starter closer to first pitch as they put Michael King on the IL.

According to Tigers PR on Twitter/X, Skubal and Kershaw (from 2016) are the only pitchers in MLB history to have three consecutive road starts with 10+ strikeouts and no walks. He could've changed that against the Twins, but came up short.
