Tottenham are set to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The Portuguese defensive midfielder is set to undergo his medical with the North London club on Friday before joining up with new boss Thomas Frank on the club’s tour of Southeast Asia.

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Bayern Munich to sign Joao Palhinha on loan with an option to buy. The former Fulham midfielder will undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a season-long switch. Palhinha, who had interest from elsewhere, made his intention to join Spurs clear once he heard of their interest in him.

Palhinha was Fulham’s player of the season in his debut campaign at Craven Cottage and made 79 appearances in total for the club. Before his move to the Premier League, he had spent the entirety of his senior career in Portugal with Sporting CP and had several loan spells elsewhere.
