BOSTON — The Red Sox lost some first base depth Friday as Ryan Noda was claimed off waivers by the White Sox. Boston designated Noda, a 29-year-old first baseman/outfielder, for assignment Monday to make room on the 40-man roster for top prospect Roman Anthony.
The White Sox got to see some of the fruits of their rebuild in action Saturday. It was only one day, but the future was on display, with recently promoted pieces driving in all the runs in a 4-1 victory over the Royals.
