United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 announced Saturday that, unlike the February strike by King Soopers workers, the Safeway/Albertsons walkout will begin on a more limited scale.

Colorado Safeway employees will began a limited strike at stores in Estes Park, Fountain, and Pueblo Sunday after contract negotiations with Albertsons Companies, Inc. stalled.

The union representing Safeway store employees in Colorado has given the required 72-hour notice that the strike is set to begin one minute before midnight on Sunday.
